Charles Xavier | Professor X

Charles Francis Xavier, also known as Professor X, is a mutant who possessed strong telepathy and arguably the most powerful mind on Earth. His abilities allowed him to read the thoughts of others, impose his own will to take over other people's minds or erase their memories and appear as an image in the mind of others. Xavier dedicated his life to fighting for peaceful co-existence between man and mutantkind. To aid in this crusade, he founded a school for gifted youngsters to secretly train young mutants to control their amazing powers.

Charles Xavier is gifted, smart and charming. Being highly empathic, he knows how to raise people’s hopes and make them believe in themselves. With an innate need for peace and equality, Charles is highly determined to stick to his guns and change the world’s views of mutants. On occasion, his privilege shows and he can often be blindsided by people’s opposing views and flat out ignore them when they’re convenient.

Arrogant and naive, Charles wasn’t prepared for the clash between himself and Magneto, as well as the divide between him and his sister Raven. By the end of the first movie, he was alone and paralyzed. A natural born leader and teacher, he builds up people’s confidence, but on occasion, his flagrant use of his powers are seen as an invasion of privacy, a lesson he only learns to accept much later.

Ten years later, Charles Xavier is a broken man. Unable to cope with the constant loss, he traded his powers for the ability to walk and sleep without hearing everyone’s voices in his head. Sarcastic, cynical and morbid, Charles has given up on his future and everyone else’s futures and he has disavowed Erik and Raven.

While his feelings of anger and bitterness are strong, Charles still deeply cares about people, including the people who have hurt him and tries to change his ways in order to help them. He finally lets go of his overbearing attitude to order Raven around and finally accepts her for who she is, believing she can make the right choices. Now, somewhat humble but no less determined and strong, Charles is ready to shoulder other people’s pain and help them through their difficult times.

While this Charles Xavier retains many of the key traits of his original self, going through two places that have taken away his memory from it, only to regain them in small pieces has made him lean slightly more towards the cynical side. He still retains a sense of hope and belief that people can rise to the occasion, he has also seen many times when it has not and the people he loves have suffered for it. As such, he tends to be more insular and introverted at times.

Xavier has a wide array of telepathic powers. His telepathic range is 250 miles.

He can make himself invisible by manipulating the minds of others. He is able to telepathically communicate with others.

Charles is able to sense where nearby mutants are. This ability is enhanced when he uses Cerebro.

He is able to manipulate the minds of others to get them to do what he wants them to do. He is able to enter the mind of another to control their body and see from their perspective.
He can make others fall asleep just by telling them to. He can mentally paralyze others, making it appear as if time has been stopped.

He has the ability to develop a mental link with any person which remains as a connection to that individual.

He has the ability to cause loss of particular memories and amnesia in another person or group of people. This was demonstrated at the end of X-Men: First Class with Moira MacTaggert.

He can also manipulate and twist memories to his will.He can also peer into people's dreams.
